Full Version: Section Suggestion
belgther
I would suggest creating a reverse engineering section here in GSO, where such things can be discussed. But it will have the following restrictions:
1)When a tutorial is posted, then the example program used there must be open-source or a non-copyrighted file. This can be used for preventing indirect warez distribution here. Many cracking tutorials are about cracking commercial programs, but there are other ones which use non-commercial programs. Same should be done for tutorial links.
2)Not everyone should be able to create topic or reply there. If they want to create a topic, then they should post their topic to a moderator and wait for their confirmation so that it can be controlled.
I suggested this because there are questions asked about reverse engineering methods, unpacking, or some tool settings, and so on. Anyone who wants to ask his/her question should post there.
Well, how would it be? Or if it's not possible, why? anyway, under these rules and restrictions, there should not be any problem at all, I think.

It's god idea I am just not so sure how many people would post in it. The rules you have suggested are very good and would indeed control it. Let me think about it and I may put up a trial forum and see how it does

Even if nobody would post there, I will be glad to post there. But I think many wannabe hackers would like to ask their questions about reverse engineering tools, since reverse engineering is used to find the vulnerabilities of closed-source programs. On the other hand, there are many reverse engineers who want to share their knowledge here, but don't write because there's not such a section here, and if they share their knowledge in a public section, then scriptkids who never deserve that knowledge can access this and do stupid things with it.
