Fakers beware: no more MS updates for you

Microsoft is no longer providing updates to non-genuine versions of its Windows XP operating system. From today, the company has switched over to a full launch of its Windows Genuine Advantage Programme as part of its ongoing anti-piracy campaign.

Microsoft "Genuine Advantage" cracked in 24hours: window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all'

AV sez, "This week, Microsoft started requiring users to verifiy their serial number before using Windows Update. This effort to force users to either buy XP or tell them where you got the illegal copy is called 'Genuine Advantage.' It was cracked within 24 hours."

Before pressing 'Custom' or 'Express' buttons paste this text to the address bar and press enter:

CODE
javascript:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all')

It turns off the trigger for the key check.

i'm just curious.. the word 'all' is the same for all multilingual versions or maybe it is working only for english/us versions ??

ms is just trying to force piracy out.

I personally feel that Microsoft is trying to win a losing battle here.

Btw I was curious as I don't really have any knowledge of javascript. How does that piece of code allow you to bypass the WGA programme?

oh that's hilarious. kind of like a tradition... you know how xp was supposed to be unbreakable, and some guy pumps out a bootleg in 24 hours.

M$. Getse taken down yet again. They must've been having their little parties in the m$ offices, yey we got the pirates, waking up the next morning to smell of a HAX. = ).

MS should not to let their 10 years to create their verifying software. I wish they would learn from their other mistakes... Maybe they're still counting them?

Easier way:
Tools -> Manage Add-ons
Select WGA Check
Hit Disable

Will be disabled everytime you start up updates smile.gif
