Full Version: Window Menu
linux_dude
I was wondering if anyone knew how to edit the menu you get when you right click on the top border of window. You know, the one that shows Restore Move Size etc...

I don't want to just remove/edit the names, I want to add some items with coding behind it.

If someone thinks this can't be done, giving a reason why would be nice. :-D

i think u mean shell extensions

hm i use a tool called shexview from nirsoft but i dont know if ur extension is foundable there

and also it can be found in the registry:

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-xxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]
replace x with 0-9

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]

or search your registry : shellex

hope it helped a bit

You would have to use DLL injection to attach to the process and change that kind of stuff i think. What exactly do you want to put there? Maybe there is an easier way.

I wanted to add an option to add transparency to the windows, as well as hide the content completey and leave a floating Title bar with the name of the running program.

h**p://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/shell/programmersguide/shell_int/shell_int_programming/std_ifaces.asp

maybe there u find how to override that menu :|

Hmm, reading that, I'm pretty sure the menu I'm talking about isn't a shell extension?

Just to make sure we're all talking about the same thing here:user posted image

That's what I want it to look like.

And hey, just because I like and run Linux doesn't mean I don't run Windows when it gets a problem solved faster. And when I do, I'd like it to run the way I want it to. :-D
