CODE
SHUTDOWN -r

make a batchfile run that command everything the computer reboots. not sure if that answers your question.

There was a post a little while ago about someone changing their computername in the registry causing services.exe to crash and a shutdown dialog box to pop up. Other people tried it and no success, just the poster but I think its along the lines of what your asking.

That post is here: http://www.governmentsecurity.org/forum/in...topic=15519&hl=

I doubt its possible but if you can find some operation dependent service that is completly dependent on a registry value and you can somehow modify that value to cause the program to crash then yeah its possible but I don't know of any at the moment.

Well 1 person it happend to also. But it only seems to work on a Domain. other then that bug I don't think it is possible *yet.

Yes it is possible, just create a key under run or somewhere else with this value shutdown -r -t 0 .

Or do you want to reboot a remote computer then use this shutdown -r -t 0 -m \\computername , this doesn't require the registry.

That will results in a computer-loop-boot, but the computer HAVE to restart in order to run it, but thats not what i wanted to know.

Paul try the method I found. It may or may not work. But it is what you are looking for. other then that I have never heard of a way to make the system reboot on a change of a reg key. Let us know if it worked for you.
