how do i secure (without completely upgrading) serv-u from the various exploits that are around these days...
(i.e a patch or something)

i don't know a way to patch your system against serv-u exploits without upgrading to a new version. i never heard of patches for serv-u, rhinosoft always released a new version, when they fixed a bug.
but hey, downloading serv-u and installing it shouldn't take much time as you can use your old ini, so you don't need to reconfigure everything.

iam sure there are not any "patches" for serv-u around here...
still install an not vulln version of servu....
maybe for the "MDTM" Command Remote Exploit ... you disallow any user to change "MDTM"

to upgrade can i just replace the EXE? will that work? (servudaemon.exe)

you need to change the version-information which should be at the top of the ini, if i remember correctly. after that it should work, please correct me if i am wrong...
