Full Version: Securing Serv-u
GhostCow
how do i secure (without completely upgrading) serv-u from the various exploits that are around these days...
(i.e a patch or something)
strych_nine
i don't know a way to patch your system against serv-u exploits without upgrading to a new version. i never heard of patches for serv-u, rhinosoft always released a new version, when they fixed a bug.
but hey, downloading serv-u and installing it shouldn't take much time as you can use your old ini, so you don't need to reconfigure everything.
LambofGod
iam sure there are not any "patches" for serv-u around here...
still install an not vulln version of servu....

maybe for the "MDTM" Command Remote Exploit ... you disallow any user to change "MDTM"
buzzons
dont use it, use guildftpd instead -- and its free!
GhostCow
to upgrade can i just replace the EXE? will that work? (servudaemon.exe)
strych_nine
you need to change the version-information which should be at the top of the ini, if i remember correctly. after that it should work, please correct me if i am wrong...
