I've got a book: Network Security by Ankit Fadia and I must say that its a must read for beginners and advanced users. Its got exploit codes in it ... C TCP connect scanners, C SNY scanners and whole lotta shit. Its a very nice book (thumbs up)
Hexboy
Damn digger, I want that book ! tcp connect scans are cake but loud, I'm trying ot figure out SYN scans , does it have to do wit hthe SYN / ACK response?
virus
^^ Yes it does. Give me sometime and I'll post an excerpt from the book on TCP, SYN and Syn/ACK scanning.

P.S: Yes TCP scans are lound indeed .... SYN/ACK scans are stealthier
