Fan1st car, today announced that it will honor the nine firefighter who died in Charleston, S.C. June 19 in a furniture warehouse fire by putting each of their names on the Fan1st number 10 Toyota driven by Dave Blaney at the Milwaukee Mile's AT&T 250 race this Saturday, June 23 in Milwaukee, Wis.
Fan1st Founder Edward Collins, a former Battalion Chief of the Kansas City Fire Department, said, "We are so pleased to be able to honor these nine men who so heroically gave their lives to save people inside the building. This is a great loss not only for their families and friends, but for the community of firefighters across the country. This is a tribute to their service and a way for the entire country to be able to remember their lives."
The names of the nine Charleston Fire Department firefighters that will appear on the Fan1st.com car are William "Billy" Hutchinson (Captain), Mike Benke (Captain), Louis Mulkey (Captain), Mark Kelsey (Engineer), Bradford "Brad" Baity (Engineer), Michael French (Assistant Engineer), James "Earl" Drayton (Firefighter), Brandon Thompson (Firefighter), and Melven Champaign (Firefighter).
Fan1st.com also announced that it will donate $5 of each membership purchased this weekend to the Charleston Fallen Firefighters Fund. Fans can join Fan1st.com by purchasing a Diamond Monthly Membership for $9.99 or a Diamond Season Membership for $99.
