If you are reading this article, you might have saved yourself $20 -
$30. Some people out there are charging $30 to get a way to workaround
the MSPLinks provided by Myspace.
To keep all readers up to pace, let me briefly explain what is
Myspace, and why a lot of marketers would love to get rid of those
MSPLinks. According to Wikipedia, MySpace is a popular social
networking website offering an interactive, user-submitted network of
friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos
internationally.
Below are the facts I got from Alexa Internet, MySpace is currently the
world's sixth most popular English-language website and the sixth most
popular website in any language, and the third most popular website in
the United States,
though it has topped the chart on various weeks. The service has
gradually gained more popularity than similar websites to achieve
nearly 80% of visits to online social networking websites.It has become
an increasingly influential part of contemporary popular culture,
especially in English speaking countries.
It's fact that Myspace is getting more and more popular, and people are
looking for ways to benefit from it. One of the ways is using Myspace
for their advertising campaign. This is how they do it: Instead of
putting real information about the user, people are starting to put
text or image links on their profiles. Some others put advertising
links on their comments as well. These links will either drive traffic
to the intended website or direct you to a salespage where the sender
will get sales commission whenever the visitor buy something from the
website. This trend is growing and that's why Myspace started to take
action and filtered all links on Myspace. This is where MSPLinks come
in. Instead of letting you put a direct link to other websites, Myspace
will take all the links, put them into MSPLinks, filters and replaces
all links that include affiliate id with Myspace.com. That's why all
your links will be replaced by MSPLinks once you hit the save button
I have found a way to workaround this MSPLinks. I tried it and it
works. Let me share the secret with you :)
1. Create a html file by using Notepad
2. Copy and paste this code into your page: (You might need to change a
couple of things to suit your needs)
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
charset=iso-8859-1" />
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=Your destination url with
your affiliate ID on it"> --> The line you need to pay attention
to
<title>Whatever title you want to put here</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
Let me explain a bit about the code:
content = "0" means the page will redirect your visitor to the destination immediately.
URL = your destination URL with your affiliate ID
3. Save the html file and call whatever you want. For example:
thesecret.html
4. Upload the file to your www folder on server.
5. Next whenever you need to put a link to your merchant, you can
direct it to thesecret.html. When the visitors got to this page, the
page will automatically direct it to your merchant website.
This methods work for me, and it should work for you too. If you have any question, come to my website http://www.mochtardjoko.com and post a comment on my post.
